Summary: Iraqi military officer who had served as Saddam Hussein's chief bodyguard and presidential secretary during the late dictator's deposed regime and became No. 4 on the list of Iraqi officials targeted by American forces following the 2003 U.S.-led invasion behind only Saddam and his two sons Uday and Qusay before he was captured and subsequently sentenced to death in 2010 along with former deputy prime minister Tariq Aziz and ex-interior minister Saadun Shaker for their role in the crackdown on Shiite Muslim religious parties during the 1980's.
